Joss Whedon, you are a genius

Too. Awesome.

HAHAHAHAHAHahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Funny

This just made me laugh out loud. But then, I'm sort of a geek.

I don't often do this, mostly because I hardly have time to read these days, and therefore find things to link to. (As an aside, I'm reading you, yes, all of you, I'm just lurking a little until I have time to comment more.) Also, even though I really do want to give these folks a little linky love, part of me insists I'm copping out by not writing a "real" post.

So anyhow...go give my friend netselkie some kudos on her first successful craft show! I've been a willing guinea pig for a while now, and to see this enterprise take off for her is really exciting!

Then why don't you head on over and visit the Ambulance Driver, who has spun a magnificent, Tolkien-esque tale of ER mayhem.

And hopefully, after that, you'll even come back here! Because hopefully, someday soon, I'll crawl out from under the piles of laundry, dirty dishes and dog hair long enough to write something.

Hey there!

It's 6:20 in the morning, and I'm already drenched in sweat, despite the air conditioning. (Yes, we gave in right around the fourth of July.) Stepping out the back door to let the dog in doesn't help at all. The air might be marginally cooler than the inside air, but the humidity has been unbelievably high for the last couple of weeks.

Having finished a high-energy circuit training workout, I move on to Pilates, and prove two things to myself. Firstly, I really need to stick with my program, because I'm so out of shape I can actually hear those wimpy abs whining, and secondly, I really need to vacuum. Or maybe just banish all the hairy critters outside. I'm not sure what got more hair on me, the floor, or the cat that kept stropping her shedding hide against my sweat-soaked skin.

The thing is, I'm trying to get back into my groove, and not just with the exercising. I'm not sure if any of you noticed, but I haven't written a lot lately. Part of that is just summer. When we're not going here, or there, or doing something special, we're just outside. Not much writing going on in the back yard. Or house cleaning, for that matter.

Of course, if the rest of the summer has seemed busy, August seems intent on taking the prize for making me crazy. My birthday was a couple of weeks ago, and we had a big family campout/birthday party/reunion kind of thing. We've done this for several years now, and it's always a blast, but between the event itself, and getting everything ready, it got pretty nuts around here. Plus, it's that time of year again when Kid goes back to school, so we've been school shopping and going through all the children's clothes to figure out if they've managed to outgrow quite everything they own yet or not. Add into that all the regular commitments, meetings and weekly events, and it's a recipe for chaos.

So, if you've been wondering where I am, that's the scoop. I'm hoping that as school starts, and our family gets back into a stricter routine, I'll be posting a little more often. That's the hope, anyway. I can tell you for sure that you'll be seeing a lot more of me come cooler weather, but that sure seems a long way off.

For now, I'll just sweat, and if I think of something to say, I'll be around to say it.

Reunion

I have discovered over the past week that I don't do as well without my very own computer as I thought I did. I have been able to leave my computer to gather dust for weeks at a time in the past, without really feeling the loss. The difference, I think, is that those are usually planned outages, where I'm on vacation, or occupied with other things; times where I make the choice to step away from the keyboard.

When my hard drive started to make that clicky-beepy noise last week (which it stubbornly persisted in making, even when faced with Lion's stern gaze of disapproval), I didn't worry too much about it. However, it soon became apparent that it was going to keep doing that, then something had to be done.

Luckily, it was an easy fix. Since we're not playing WoW right now, I don't need Windows!

That's right. The Mac is back.

I'll be catching up with y'all soon! :D
